  1. Hi, I have a Question concerning the Maps of SOI About the activities of the native Explorers (Pundits) in Tibet/central asia. Is there an overview (table, list, etc.)of all published Maps regardings this issue?

    • We know of no such list of maps by SoI about the Pundits. The best book on the Pundits is probably “1990 The Pundits–British Exploration of Tibet and Central Asia by Waller”. MCADDeditor

  2. I wish to know the area (latitude and longitude) for Topo sheet Map No. 73 J/7. This is required by one of our student for his study. I could locate 73 J but not J/7 and unable to know the area covered by this. Can you please help?

  3. hi, im after copies of maps 84 D/9,D/5,C/8 and C/12. these are of the kalapanzin valley in the arakan. i need these maps to trace my fathers movements in 1943/45 as they have the military coords.

    • You don’t say where you’re located, but it appears you need to find a good map library, such as British Library or Library of Congress. The area you need is a bit outside our area of interest. MCADDeditor

      • sorry, im in the uk.

well it was a long time ago but these maps were published by you! lol

these come from MAP G7720 S 63. there were millions of these maps printed…i can find none.

    • The map 45 J/11 of the Survey of India covers the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan. As this falls in the plains of India, rather than the northern mountains, it is not included in the MCADD area of interest and we do not have a copy. Sorry. MCADDeditor

  4. Sir , In which format 1945 Index 53 is visible ? More over ,practically after Google Earth appeared in Our PC , Prejudice about border line map is became irrelevant. But still we need it for initial preparation for Trekking and mountaineering. Why dont you make easy available to Indians? It will be better if you publish Latest 1:50,000 maps in Pahar or in printed format
