  3. hi
so I wonder – where the photographer has misidentified the photos, don’t u think its worth adding a note?
I saw 3 pics by Betsy Cowles, of “Boudha” and “Swayambhu” and they aren’t of Boudha or Swayambhu…

    • Shirlin, we could add a note at the bottom of any of the Betsy Cowles photos to say they have been mis-labeled, and give the correct caption. Before doing that we should make very sure the initial caption is incorrect, and then check to be sure what the revised caption should say. If you can work this out, send us a note with what you’ve found. MCADDeditor

  5. Do you know or can tell me where I can find the exchange rate between British sterling and the Indian rupee anywhere around 1893? 1893 is the precise year but a year on either side would be okay. I’m writing a historical novel and my characters are in Srinagar. This is where I need the exchange. I do know that the Kashmir Chilki rupee is equal to 10 British annas, but don’t know the sterling to rupee or vice versa rate. I will do somersaults if you can get me this information.

  6. I have been trawling the net for all things Himalayan for years and finding your site is hitting the jackpot. It’s like inheriting a Himalayan Treasure. I love it all, Thank you so much

  7. Hi everybody. I have a question about photos of the Himalayas. I have an old photo from a place. It shows a very rocky mountain range with what looks like a part of an apparent peak or mountain. In this apparent peak or mountain there are two snow-fingers that descend downwards from a high ridge toward the base of the mountain. The two snow-fingers meet with some jagged peaks. The whole place is extremely rocky without any kind of trees. For the amount of snow that is shown in the photo, it seems to be a high place. I don`t know if this place belongs to the Himalayas. If someone can help me, please send me an email to: jperez0172@hotmail.com
